Yahoo down: Yahoo users in different parts of the United States have reported disruptions to the service on Wednesday morning, with many unable to access Yahoo Mail, AOL services, and Yahoo Fantasy, according to Downdetector. People in the US started reporting the problem on Wednesday morning (US time), saying the services are not loading or working as they should. Yahoo has yet to address the issue. The issue seems to be affecting many users in different locations, and it is still not clear what caused the outage or when it will be fixed. Users are waiting for services to return to normal soon.
According to Downdetector data, Yahoo Mail saw a massive spike in reports, crossing 2000 complaints within a short time window. There was also low baseline activity at this time of the day, making the peak much more visible.
Most users are mainly facing issues where content is not loading, which makes up about 51 per cent of all complaints. Other issues include website problems at 34 per cent and app-related issues at around 9 per cent.Based on the time of day when this happens, one can conclude that there must have been something that triggered the problem.
AOL is also seeing a similar surge, with reports touching nearly 1800 plus at peak. Like Yahoo, the baseline remained normal throughout the day before rising sharply.
Users have reported website issues at around 40 per cent, login problems at 37 per cent, and issues with receiving messages at 13 per cent. This pattern shows that both access and normal features are affected.
The similar rise in issues on Yahoo and AOL suggests the problems may be connected, possibly because they rely on shared systems or backend services.
At the time of writing, there has been no official response from either Yahoo or AOL regarding the outage. Both companies have not shared any updates on the cause or expected resolution timeline.
Users quickly took to X to share their frustration and confusion. One user said, ‘Yahoo is down. Is it a cyberattack?’While another wrote, ‘The one time I need Yahoo, it’s down.’
More users added to the concern, with one post reading, ‘Looks like everything related to Yahoo, including searches, is disrupted and/or down.’
