Sonos has begun to roll out software updates for its Sons Ace headphones, adding a number of premium features aimed at improving home entertainment and audio customisation. The company stated that the Sonos Ace, the company’s first Bluetooth headphones, now supports cinematic spatial audio, real-time adaptive noise cancellation, and improved call clarity, thanks to this free over-the-air update.

In terms of new features, the most notable is TV Audio Swap for Two, which allows two Sonos Ace users to wirelessly stream TV audio from a Sonos Arc soundbar at the same time. With this, the company hopes to provide private, immersive TV viewing without disturbing others.

Additionally, the company also introduced the TrueCinema feature, a Sonos-exclusive spatial audio engine that adjusts the soundstage according to the user’s room arrangement. According to the company, it replicates the entire home theatre system by creating a “hyper-realistic surround sound experience” inside the headphones.

In order to ensure continuous listening, adaptive noise cancellation is also improved with the new update. It now uses internal sensors to dynamically adjust for fit variations brought on by hats, glasses, or hair. Additionally, SideTone was introduced, which enables users to hear their own voice in its natural tone during calls. This makes conversations more balanced and clear, even when ANC is enabled.

“Sonos Ace was intentionally designed to deliver lasting value in both form and function. With premium materials, a timeless design that resists trend-driven obsolescence, and a platform built for powerful software updates, it embodies a smarter, more sustainable approach to product development. And importantly, it keeps devices in use and out of landfills,” said Dana Krieger, VP Design at Sonos.

All these features have started rolling out globally. For the unversed, the Sonos Ace headphones are available in the market for Rs 39,999 on major e-commerce platforms like Amazon.
