HIGHLIGHTS

Exynos 2600 is built on Samsung’s 2nm GAA process for improved speed and efficiency.

CPU performance is up to 39% faster, graphics improve by 50%, and AI performance more than doubles.

The new GPU delivers smoother visuals, while improved cooling keeps the phone cooler during heavy use.

Samsung has recently announced the Exynos 2600, its new flagship chip for their smartphones. The processor will be a successor to the Exynos 2500, which is currently used in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. The latest Exynos 2600 processor is the world’s first chip built on a 2nm process with advanced GAA (Gate-All-Around) technology. With the new processor, Samsung has coupled the CPU, GPU, and NPU into a single compact chip which will provide enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) and gaming experiences.

Furthermore, the Exynos 2600 is also expected to be featured in the upcoming Samsung S26 series that will reportedly have the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26.

With the inclusion of the latest chip, the devices will supposedly give the S26 series an edge against its predecessors, and that too in the competitive consumer tech market. The new devices can gain a major boost in their performance, efficiency, and user experience. If you’re looking for what’s new with the Exynos 2600 and how it is different from its predecessor, here’s a clear breakdown.

Samsung Exynos 2600: Specs

Samsung used its new 2nm GAA manufacturing process to build its Exynos 2600 chipset. While the GAA manufacturing process was previously used to manufacture the 3nm chips, it marks its first application for the 2nm node.

In terms of design, the processor comes with a newly designed CPU design that boasts one high-performance core running at 3.8GHz, in addition to three performance cores operating at 3.25GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2.75 GHz. This design allows the manufacturer to offer high performance alongside power efficiency.

According to internal tests conducted by Samsung, Exynos 2600 provides a significant boost over its previous variant, Exynos 2500. It claims a boost in CPU performance by a staggering 39% as well as a boost in graphics by 50%. When it comes to AI, the difference is quite significant, with gains of up to 113%.

Other than that, the thermal management has also been improved, with heat control increasing by up to 16%. This improved spec in the thermal department is a credit to the new Heat Path Block design that distributes heat more evenly during sustained, intensive workloads.

Samsung Exynos 2600: Gaming and AI

Samsung also claims noticeable improvements in gaming, including better lighting effects and smoother visuals, which are a result of the inclusion of the Xclipse 960 GPU in the chipset. Furthermore, the ray tracing performance is also said to get a 50% gain, which would greatly improve the visual experience on upcoming devices. While the new frame generation approach promises much smoother gameplay, even in demanding titles. These upgrades could make a real difference for mobile gamers.
