Samsung has expanded its Samsung Care+ service in India to include extended warranty plans for home appliances, including smart TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and microwave ovens. Previously, the coverage was limited to smartphones, tablets, and wearables. Now, Samsung home appliances buyers can buy up to 4 years of extended warranty. This could come in handy for customers investing in premium or smart appliances, where repair costs can be high, or for those in smaller towns, where access to reliable third-party service may be limited.

With this expansion, Samsung is introducing what it calls an ‘industry-first coverage’ for software updates and screen malfunctions that occur without physical damage. The move extends the service scope beyond traditional hardware protection, addressing software performance and display issues that are increasingly relevant for connected home devices.
Samsung’s VP of Digital Appliances, says the company is ‘committed to enhancing the customer experience, elevating home appliances ownership with unique benefits such as software updates and screen malfunction coverage.’
Samsung Care+ is built on what the company describes as seven key pillars: expertise, reach, reliability, speed, smart service, protection, and sustainability.
The service network includes over 13,000 Samsung-certified engineers and 2,500+ authorised service centres nationwide, ensuring genuine parts and prompt service. Customers also get multi-lingual support in nine Indian languages and access to real-time tracking and maintenance reminders through the Samsung app.
The move underscores Samsung’s effort to strengthen its after-sales ecosystem in India, where competition in home appliances is intensifying. Brands such as LG, Whirlpool, and Panasonic have been focusing on service differentiation, but Samsung’s inclusion of software and display protection gives it a distinctive edge.
