The purifier also boasts touch-based controls and UV sterilisation. Here are the complete details.

Specifications and features

Air X uses a True H13 HEPA filter, which is rated to capture 99.95% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. It could trap common indoor pollutants such as dust, pollen, pet dander, and fine particulate matter up to PM2.5.

The HEPA filter is only one layer of the purifier’s 4-stage filtration system, which includes a pre-filter for larger particles like hair and dust, an activated carbon layer to absorb odours and harmful gases, and a cold catalyst filter designed to decompose indoor pollutants.

Besides this, Portronics also has a 20 million negative ion-based UV sterilisation, which is meant to kill airborne bacteria and germs.

All of these, and the device claims a CADR of 249 m³/h in rooms of up to 50 cubic metres.

Air X also includes 310 air inlets to improve airflow intake, which directly impacts purification speed.

While active, its noise levels are rated to go up to 45 dB, and if you enable its sleep mode, the noise goes down to 28 dB.

For everyday usability, the purifier features a top-mounted touch control panel, adjustable fan speeds and timer settings, and a colour-coded air quality indicator. If the air quality is good, the LED will light up blue; if it is moderate, then the indicator shines green; and finally, for poor quality, you’ll see red.

At Rs 13,599, it looks competitive. But there is no mention of app connectivity or smart home integration. For users who prefer remote control or automation, this could be a limitation.
