After much anticipation, OnePlus has officially confirmed that OxygenOS 16, its next major software update, will be launched next week. The update will be based on Android 16, and it is expected to include a slew of new AI features as well as a redesigned user interface. It should be noted that the company has not officially revealed many details about the UI or which devices will receive it first, but the OnePlus community post has cleared up a few questions. So, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming OxygenOS 16, including the release date, features, and eligible devices.
The OxygenOS 16 will be unveiled by OnePlus on October 16. However, this is not the release date, and it is unlikely that all devices will receive it at the same time. OnePlus is likely to follow its traditional staggered rollout strategy, starting with the latest flagships and gradually expanding to older and mid-range models in the coming weeks.

According to community reports, the rollout will start with the OnePlus 13 lineup, which includes the OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, and OnePlus 13s, followed by older flagship models like the OnePlus 12, 12R, and 11 series. Mid-range phones in the Nord lineup, such as the Nord 5, Nord 4, and Nord 3, are also expected to receive the update later this cycle.
Tablets like the OnePlus Pad 3, Pad 2, and Pad Lite are also on the possible list. However, based on OnePlus’ current software update policy, the Nord CE 4, Nord CE 4 Lite, and Nord 3 are likely to receive the final OxygenOS 16 update.
The OxygenOS 16 is said to come with system-level improvements and new AI integrations. Among the most anticipated upgrades, the Plus Mind will be the highlight. It will be a smart assistant powered by Google’s Gemini AI. This integration will enable users to perform tasks like trip planning or information lookup using contextual data such as screenshots.
The new update is said to come with lock-screen widgets, refined icons, smoother animations, and an updated settings and notification panel. However, OnePlus has not confirmed the details.
