Samsung has officially introduced its Android 16-based One UI 8 update with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z 7 Flip FE during the Unpacked 2025 event. The new update brings along a variety of new features including Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) that will protect Now Brief, Smart Suggestions, Samsung Moments, and other on-device features.
However, the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series is yet to roll out. While Samsung hasn’t shared an official timeline, reports suggest that the update could be released soon. Here’s what we know so far about the expected One UI 8 rollout for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and other compatible devices.
Usually, Samsung introduces new Android updates in the fourth quarter, around October or November, after Google introduces stable Android updates to Pixels. But since Android 16 came early, Samsung is said to introduce a new update sooner than you expect.
If the reports are believed to be true, the Galaxy S25 Ultra along with Plus and vanilla trim may get the One UI 8 update in late July 2025. The Galaxy S24 series along with Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Z Fold 6 alongside Z Flip 6 may get the update in August 2025. However, the official release date remains under wraps.
