ChatGPT launches budget plan ChatGPT Go for indian users
OpenAI on Tuesday announced that it will offer one year of free access to ChatGPT Go, its new mid-tier subscription plan, for all Indian users who sign up during a limited-time promotional period starting November 4. The offer celebrates OpenAI’s first DevDay Exchange event in India, taking place in Bengaluru on the same day.
“To celebrate OpenAI’s DevDay Exchange event in Bengaluru on 4 November – its first in India – OpenAI is making ChatGPT Go available free for one full year to all users in India who sign up during a limited-time promotional period, starting 4 November,” the company said.
ChatGPT Go was launched in India in August 2025, offering users an affordable way to experience OpenAI’s more advanced features. It provides higher message limits, daily image generation, and extended file uploads, making it a bridge between the free and premium Plus tiers. The plan quickly gained traction with paid ChatGPT subscribers in India, more than doubling in the first month of launch.
OpenAI has since expanded ChatGPT to nearly 90 markets worldwide, but India remains the company’s second-largest and one of the fastest-growing markets globally.
Here’s everything to know about the ChatGPT Go and how you can get it for free.
The ChatGPT Go plan comes powered by GPT-5, OpenAI’s most advanced model, promising faster performance, better context retention, and improved support for Indic languages. Compared to the free tier, Go offers 10x more message capacity, daily image generation access, extended file upload support, twice the memory length for more personalised responses
Priced originally as a mid-tier option below Plus (Rs 1,999/month) and Pro (Rs 19,900/month), ChatGPT Go is aimed at students, creators, and professionals who need flexibility and advanced tools without committing to higher-tier plans.
