Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, on Wednesday, announced an annual FASTag pass plan, slated to start from August 15, 2025, aiming to reduce congestion at tolls and make them more affordable. Priced at Rs 3,000, the annual FASTag plan is applicable for private vehicle owners in India, allowing them unlimited access across National Highway toll plazas. Users will receive a maximum of 200 crossings or one year of validity, whichever comes first, without incurring additional charges.

According to MoRTH, this scheme will substantially cut down the annual toll expense for regular commuters by 70%. The annual FASTag plan is said to save around Rs 7,000 annually for frequent highway commuters. Here’s everything to know

Annual FASTag plan: Who can apply for it

The pass is only applicable for private, non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. Commercial vehicles, including taxis, buses, or trucks, are not eligible for this.

Which toll booths are eligible for the annual FASTag plan?

The FASTag Annual Pass is applicable at all toll plazas located on National Highways managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). For the most accurate and updated list of valid toll booths, you can check the Rajmarg Yatra App or visit the official NHAI website.

What will happen after completing 200 trips or at the end of the year?

After one year or 200 trips, users will be required to reactivate the annual pass by paying Rs 3,000 through the official channel, or it will automatically revert to a regular FASTag.

What should you do when the annual FASTag plan expires?

When your FASTag annual pass expires, users can renew the pass and keep enjoying the benefits of the annual FASTag plan.

What will happen to the existing FASTag balance?

The balance in your existing FASTag account will remain valid as long as the FASTag itself is valid. There is no expiration date for the balance, so you can continue to use it for toll payments until the FASTag sticker expires.
