Oppo has already announced the ColorOS 16, its next generation operating system based on Android 16 along with Oppo Find X9 series global launch. The new software update offers AI backed performance, cross-device integration and a refined software experience. The ColorOS 16 announcement came right after the OriginOS 6 and OxygenOS 16 and aims to offer vibrant design elements, AI integration and a seamless ecosystem connectivity. ColorOS 16 will include the Luminous Rendering Engine and Trinity Engine, which are designed to provide smoother animations, faster app transitions, and lower visual latency. The design is inspired by natural light and shadows, with dynamic wallpapers and an always-on display.
It also makes an important upgrade to AI Mind Space, a unified hub for notes, reminders, and contextual recommendations. It works both offline and in the cloud, performing quick tasks like summarising text, editing photos, and suggesting creative enhancements. AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser, and Master Cut enable one-tap photo editing for casual creators.
Oppo has also introduced O+ Connect, a multi-device platform that allows for instant file sharing, call answering, and app mirroring between Oppo phones, tablets, PCs, and even third-party devices.
The ColorOS 16 update will first arrive on the Oppo Find X9 and X9 Pro next month, followed by the Reno 13 series and select F-series devices in early 2026. Users with Find or Reno models released within the past two years can expect noticeable gains in performance and battery efficiency.
