HIGHLIGHTS

Cloudflare confirms Dashboard and API failures, affecting users across multiple regions.

Scheduled maintenance at the Detroit data centre may be contributing to widespread service disruptions.

Apps like Canva and Blinkit are impacted, while ChatGPT and Gemini continue to function normally.

After a massive outage last month, Cloudflare is down again. Thousands of users are unable to use multiple applications including Canva. The company on its Status page has stated that it is facing issues with Cloudflare Dashboard and related APIs. The company also stated that customers using the Dashboard / Cloudflare APIs are impacted as requests might fail and/or errors may be displayed.

The disruption comes with scheduled maintenance at Cloudflare’s Detroit (DTW) data centre, which began at 09:00 UTC (2:30 PM IST) and is expected to last until 13:00 UTC (6:30 PM IST). During this time, traffic from the region is rerouted, potentially resulting in higher latency and temporary unavailability of certain network interfaces. Cloudflare has advised customers with private or cloud interconnections in this location to ensure that their traffic is properly routed to other networks.

While the company has not confirmed whether the outage is directly related to the scheduled maintenance, users in multiple regions have reported difficulty loading websites and apps that use Cloudflare’s services. The company described the issue as “internal service degradation,” implying that it may go beyond routine maintenance.

Surprisingly, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other services that rely on Cloudflare are working, but Canva and Blinkit are facing disruptions. Even the realtime outage detecting platform Downdetector is already facing problems.

Last month, the company experienced a massive outage, rendering millions of users and hundreds of businesses unable to access its platforms. The company later stated that the disruption was caused by a technical error on their end.

Users have started a meme fest on X, as they always do. Many people found humour in the situation and shared some funny memes.
