AppleCare+ for iPhone Duo costs almost same as iPhone 16e: Here is what you get

HIGHLIGHTS

AppleCare+ for the iPhone Duo costs Rs 51,900 in India.

It covers accidental damage, battery replacement and gives priority support.

It can be useful for people who want extra protection for their expensive foldable phone.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone comes with a premium price, but the cost does not stop at the phone itself. The AppleCare+ which users buy to get extra warranty and technical support is also listed for a heavy price in India. For a device that starts at Rs 2,99,900, the extra cost may still look reasonable to some buyers. However, AppleCare+ is not a must-have for every iPhone Duo owner, as the purchasing decision depends on how you use your phone, how much risk you are willing to take, and whether paying extra for protection gives you enough peace of mind over the life of this expensive foldable.

AppleCare+ for iPhone Duo: Price

Apple recently debuted its first foldable device, the iPhone Duo, in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 299,900. And if you’re looking to get AppleCare+ for extra peace of mind, then the plan for iPhone Duo in India costs Rs 51,900, which is marginally less than the price of the iPhone 16e. The company is also offering a monthly option starting at Rs 8,650 per month.

AppleCare+ for iPhone Duo: What does it offer?

With AppleCare+ the buyers get unlimited repairs for accidental damage such as drops and spills for their iPhone Duo. Not only that but the plan also provides priority support from Apple experts. The plan can be a lifesaver for the foldable owners, where damage could be more expensive because of its hinge and two displays.  The battery replacement of the device is also included in the plan with no additional charges.

Should you buy AppleCare+ for iPhone Duo?

If you own an iPhone Duo, then getting AppleCare+ is worth considering because it comes with more moving parts and two screens, and if you accidentally damage the device, then the repair cost could be massive.

However, purchasing it or not depends on how you use the device. As if you’re someone who often drops devices or simply wants peace of mind, AppleCare+ can make sense.

The iPhone Duo is already a major investment, so adding protection can feel sensible. But at nearly Rs 52,000, AppleCare+ is itself a large expense. If repair costs, coverage terms and your usage make the protection valuable, it can be worth buying.

However, if you’re someone who is a careful user that installs cases with your device and rarely damages your device, then skipping AppleCare+ could be the better financial choice. While these are just my opinions, the final call still lies with you.
