It can also house the new 18-megapixel center stage camera.

Not officially revealed yet, but leaks and rumours have started surfacing on the internet that Apple will launch its next-gen laptop, tablet, and the XR headset this week. The cupertino-based tech giant is expected to drop M5-powered iPad Pro and MacBook Pro, along with the new-generation Vision Pro 2. Speaking of the iPad, the highlight is expected to be Apple’s latest and most powerful processor yet, the M5 chip. According to an unofficial early benchmark testing, the M5 chip has shown a decent hike in numbers compared to its predecessor.

But, the M5 chip is not the only detail about the iPad Pro 2025 that’s out on the internet. Here are 4 more details that we already know about the upcoming iPad Pro through leaks and rumours.

Display

Firstly, the M5 iPad Pro is expected to retain the OLED Ultra Retina XDR display, which was introduced with the M4 iPad generation. Rumours also suggest smaller bezels and slightly larger 11.5-inch and 13-inch displays.

Minor internal changes

Next, Apple is expected to include its new N1 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip to the new iPad Pro, which could improve wireless performance and power efficiency.

Front camera

The front camera could also see an upgrade to an 18-megapixel Center Stage sensor, similar to what we saw on the recently launched iPhone 17 series. The new design will allow both landscape and portrait selfies without rotating the camera. However, on the back, the iPad makers are expected to continue with the old 12-megapixel rear camera and LiDAR scanner from the M4 iPad Pro.

iPad Pro M5 launch

Apple’s iPad Pro models follow an 18-month refresh cycle, for example, the M1 in April 2021, the M2 in October 2022, and the M4 in May 2024. Based on this pattern, the M5 iPad Pro model is expected to debut globally in October or November 2025. Recently, FCC filings revealed several unreleased Apple device IDs, which are believed to be the new iPad Pros. This also suggests that the launch is imminent.

M5 chip upgrade

And laslty, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had earlier reported that the M5 iPad Pro would mostly bring performance improvements. The M5 chip is expected to deliver up to 12% faster CPU performance and as much as 36% better graphics output compared to the M4 variant.
