Apple has officially released the second developer beta of iOS 26. It has made significant improvements to its operating system since its unveiling at WWDC 2025. It includes UI changes, accessibility improvements, and functional upgrades to popular apps such as Safari, Wallet, and the App Store. Keep in mind that the iOS 26 public beta release date is still unknown, and if you are updating to the iOS 26 developer beta, make sure to back up all of your data.
Here’s everything new, including features, changes, and how to download it to your iPhone.
Among the many features included in the iOS 26 beta 2 is a redesigned Control Centre with improved background blur that contrasts better with the Liquid Glass design. Furthermore, the improved “Reduce Transparency” toggle in the accessibility settings further reduces interface opacity for improved readability.
The New Tab button has been repositioned to the lower left corner of Safari by Apple, bringing it into line with previous versions. The Compact tab bar now displays both the forward and backward navigation.
Developers can now emphasise inclusive features on app product pages by using the App Store’s dedicated “Accessibility” section. A new order tracking feature is activated by the Wallet app, enabling Siri to scan emails and even receipts from non-Apple Pay in order to create a single order list.

Additionally, the latest update brought a new ringtone option called “Alt 1” under the Reflection category, an updated description of Low Power Mode for Apple Music users’ Live Radio widget, and a new name for Live Captions: “Save Call Transcripts,” which includes a tone warning participants of transcription. Along with the replacement of the lock screen widgets at the bottom of the screen, it also receives a redesign of the Passkey sign-in interface.
Registered developers can currently access iOS 26 beta 2. Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and choose the iOS 26 Developer Beta option if you are a member of Apple’s Developer Program. The official release, which coincides with the iPhone 17 series, is planned for mid-September, with a public beta anticipated in July.
