Artificial intelligence has started to blur the long-standing boundaries within the tech team, specifically the big tech companies. We already have some aggressive talent and hierarchy shifts, thanks to AI and automation strategy. While it has changed the way how different roles work, experts believe that it can really be beneficial.
Speaking on a recent episode of Lenny’s Podcast, Zevi Arnovitz, product manager at Meta, talked about AI-powered vibe coding tools and how they reshaped his day-to-day work, allowing him to move beyond coordination into hands-on building.
Arnovitz also stated that he has no formal engineering background but says AI tools have enabled him to prototype features, test ideas, and contribute code in ways that were previously inaccessible.
For the unversed, Arnovitz joined Meta in September after spending several years at website builder Wix, said discovering AI coding tools in mid 2024 changed his career. He used platforms like Cursor along with AI models from Anthropic and Google, which restructured the workflow. He stated that it handled everything from ideation and planning to writing and reviewing code.

He believes that this shift has transformed the role of product manager from a bridge between teams into something closer to a product owner with execution capabilities. While he stressed that complex infrastructure work should still remain with engineers, Arnovitz said AI has made it feasible for product managers to independently build smaller UI features before passing them on for final review.
The reports suggest that this trend is growing. Recently, Figma CEO Dylan Field stated that AI tools are encouraging designers, researchers, engineers and product managers to experiment outside their traditional domains. Similarly, LinkedIn also revamped its entry-level product management programme into an associate product builder track.
