Adept Quattro – reportedly world’s fastest precision control robot

Quoted as being the world’s fastest precision control robot, the Adept Quattro appears to have hogged the limelight at the first national robotics week demonstration. As per the video, the Quattro is said to be pitted against the human controlled moving platform operated with a WiiMote and still seems to have accomplished the job with effortless ease. The job involves picking up the chips from a fast moving metal block (resembling a checker board) and placing them on a sheet of paper over the stationary table. Then putting the chips back into the metal block without losing track or dropping the chips forms the second half of the job. It is to be noted that the WiiMote controlling human operator, seems to have tried his best in tricking the robot to make mistakes by changing directions rapidly in both ways. However, Adept Quattro exhibits an uninhibited precision control over the pickup and dropping of chips in the right place every time.
