Valorant new update: From exciting new features to Tejo, a strategic initiator, check all the changes here

Valorant is rolling out Patch 10.00, bringing a range of exciting updates to enhance gameplay. From the introduction of Tejo, a new initiator agent, to revamped systems, players have plenty to explore in this update. Keep reading to know what new Valorant is offering with its Patch 10.00.

Tejo: The Colombian initiator

Tejo is the highlight of Patch 10.00, offering unique abilities designed to control areas and disrupt enemies. Here’s what Tejo brings to the table:

• Special Delivery: A sticky grenade that attaches to surfaces, creating a concussive explosion to disrupt enemies. The ALT FIRE option lets players bounce it for strategic placement.
• Stealth Drone: A deployable drone that locates enemies and reveals them with a pulse, adding both vision and crowd control.
• Guided Salvo: Players can select up to two points on the map to launch guided missiles that explode on impact, dealing significant damage.
• Armageddon (Ultimate): Tejo selects a strike path to unleash explosive waves along the route. Players can cancel the origin of the strike if needed for flexibility.

Tejo’s abilities make him a powerful choice for players who prioritise disruption and area control. 

Season 2025 and map rotation

Valorant is introducing a year-long format called Season 2025, divided into six acts. The new system introduces a more consistent and predictable schedule, catering to both competitive players and casual fans. Each season will begin with a full rank reset, followed by another reset midway through the season.

Patch 10.00 also brings a new Map Rotation system, with maps rotating every act. 

Cosmetic and Esports enhancements

Cosmetic customisation gets a boost with the introduction of the FLEX system, now available through the Expressions Wheel (formerly the Spray Wheel). All players start with the default FLEX STAT-COM and can equip various FLEX items to showcase their style during gameplay.

The Esports Hub returns with updates for VCT25, offering details on teams, standings, and events. The International League Kickoff on January 11 will be a major highlight for fans.

Gameplay updates and bug fixes

An Automatic Remake Voting system now ensures stalled matches can be quickly reset if a player is AFK in the first round. Minor updates, like faster equip time for Brimstone’s Stim Beacon, enhance responsiveness.

Bug fixes include improvements for agents like Skye and Phoenix, and adjustments to abilities for agents like Raze and Sova.
