GTA 6 still set for November launch, Take-Two CEO denies delay rumours

Updated on 04-Feb-2026

Ever since the original announcement, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI has seen it all. From massive leaks showcasing almost half the game to even multiple delays, which have pushed the release date to more than a year. But now, even though the game is confirmed to be releasing in November 2026, many fans still have their doubts about the release date. And that’s mostly because of the rumours that have been spread online about the game. But thankfully, Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick has dismissed all these rumours in the company’s latest earnings call. Let’s take a detailed look at what he said about GTA 6.

GTA 6 on track for November release

Despite all the current rumours suggesting that GTA 6 could be delayed beyond the current November 2026 release, Take-Two has dismissed it all. They have said that GTA 6’s release date is on track.

During the investor’s call, Take-Two’s CEO said, ‘Our execution throughout Fiscal 2026 has been extraordinary and we are highly confident as we approach Fiscal 2027 – which promises to be groundbreaking for Take-Two and the entire entertainment industry – led by the November 19th release of Grand Theft Auto VI.’

When does the marketing start?

Along with the release date for the game, Take-Two Interactive has also talked about the game’s marketing. Given how huge marketing budgets are in general, it is safe to assume that Rockstar is pretty much on track with the release date, too.

Well, in typical Rockstar fashion, Take Two has said that GTA 6 will be seeing a major marketing push just a few months before the release date, which is around summer. Take-Two’s CEO said, ‘I think you’ll be pretty astonished by the creativity that Rockstar’s marketing team brings to consumers in the coming months.’

Update on physical copies

Last but not least, a few days back, we reported on how GTA 6 could skip the launch of physical copies on the launch date in order to avoid leaks. But well, in the same earnings call, Take-Two has dismissed all these past rumours. They have said that GTA 6 will launch digitally as well as physically on the launch day.
