The highly anticipated game from Rockstar Games, GTA 6, hasn’t had a very straightforward release timeline. The game was originally supposed to come out in 2025; however, Rockstar later announced that the game would release in May this year. While gamers were finally happy to get an exact launch date, just a few months after Rockstar announced another delay, for about six months, pushing the release date to November this year. Now, as per the latest news, chances are GTA 6’s release could get delayed again. This comes after industry insider Jason Schreier talked about the game in a recent podcast. Let’s take a look at what he said!

Just a few days back, Schreier was featured on the Button Mash podcast, where he talked about GTA 6. Right off the bat, at the start of the episode, he said that from what he has heard, the game isn’t ‘content complete.’ Furthermore, as per him, it is really hard to say if the game will be released in November. To support his statement, he said that no one at Rockstar Games is certain that they’ll be able to make the game in the given timeline.
As for what’s currently happening with the game, as per Schreier, the developers of the game are still finalising missions, adding stuff to the game, and deciding what all will make it into the final build. Once that is completed, after that is when the bug fixing stage of the game will start. Given the scale of the game, bugs are going to be a common occurrence in the development stage, so it could take them some time to get that sorted as well.
Given the massive hype surrounding the game, and while also taking Rockstar’s previous records into consideration, Schreier says that Rockstar would want the game to be released in a perfect state. So in that case, they would rather let it get delayed again than release it in a buggy state.
Lastly, Schreier also talked about his expectations for the final release date for the game. He said that since Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two’s fiscal year would end in late March, next year in 2027, Rockstar would most likely be aiming to release the game by then. The insider believes that they would want to keep it in line with Take-Two’s fiscal year, because the company’s stock highly depends upon the release of the game.
