Gamers around the world got a huge surprise back in May when Rockstar Games unexpectedly dropped the second trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) on YouTube. The video quickly went viral and circulated on social media platforms like Instagram and X, with fans going crazy over the stunning visuals, intense car chases, and new characters.
Since then, excitement around GTA 6 has only grown. With players eagerly waiting for the next installment in the GTA series, here’s a simple breakdown of all the key details we know so far.
GTA 6 will follow the story of two main characters: Jason and Lucia. Rockstar describes their journey like this: “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

Besides Jason and Lucia, the game will introduce several other new characters. These include Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre’Quan Priest, Raul Bautista and Real Dimez.
Players will explore a map set in the state of Leonida. According to Rockstar, GTA 6 “heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”
GTA 6 is set to release on May 26, 2026. In India, the standard version is expected to cost around Rs 5,999, while special editions may go up to Rs 7,299 or even more.
While Rockstar hasn’t shared official system specs yet, leaks suggest gamers may need at least an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, 8GB RAM, and 150GB of free storage.
