Hideo Kojima’s much-awaited Death Stranding 2 was released on PlayStation 5 last year, and ever since the launch, it has been a massive hit. Fans of the first game have enjoyed it a lot, but the other side of the crowd, the PC gamers, had been waiting for the release, too. And well, after a bit of a wait, the PC version was announced just a few days ago. Now we finally have details regarding the PC requirements for the game, too. Let’s take a deep dive into what specs PC gamers would require to run the game at max settings with good frame rates.
Sony, on their official blog, has confirmed that the game is being developed in collaboration with Nixxes and Kojima Productions. The game is set to offer a range of graphics presets that will include low to very high. The developers have confirmed that they’ve also added a portable preset, aimed at handheld gaming devices.
Check out the official overview of the hardware recommendations set by the developers below:
Speaking of some of the exclusive features that the game is receiving only for the PC version, these include support for Nvidia’s DLSS 4, AMD’s FSR 4 and Intel XESS 2 upscaling tech. PlayStation has confirmed that both upscaling and frame generation options will be available at launch.
For the PC upscaling settings, a setting called ‘Pico’ is also being added, and the developers are calling it “Progressive Image Compositor”. The developers have said that it has been developed by Guerrilla for the Decima engine and is the same upscaling technology that’s used for Death Stranding 2 on PS5, and this setting is supported on all graphics cards.
Not only that, but the game will also come with support for ultrawide aspect ratios. All cutscenes from Death Stranding 2 can be natively displayed in a 21:9 aspect ratio. While cutscenes are limited to 21:9, the gameplay extends even further, as it supports up to 32:9 displays. PlayStation has confirmed that an option to play Death Stranding 2 in a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio will also be coming to PS5 via an update at the same time as the PC release.
