Kajol’s one of the most talked-about courtroom dramas is making a comeback with its season 2. Directed by Umesh Bist, The Trial season 2, featuring Kajol once again in the lead as Noyonika Sengupta, is set to arrive this week on an OTT platform. The teaser suggests that Noyonika will face more challenging cases while her husband’s scandal from the previous season continues to haunt her. The story will revolve around power, redemption, and identity. For the unversed, the first season of The Trial: Pyaar Kanoon Dhokha was released in 2023.

The Trial Season 2 will stream on JioHotstar, also available via OTTplay Premium, starting September 19, 2025.
Season 1 introduced Noyonika as an underconfident lawyer trying to navigate the corporate legal space while dealing with personal turmoil. Season 2 will showcase her transformation into a more assertive, battle-ready lawyer, tackling high-profile and complex cases.
This season, Noyonika will not only handle the legal challenges in court but also her own past, which threatens to blur the lines between her personal and professional worlds. Her journey shifts from hesitation to confidence as she fights to protect both her position and her law firm from collapse. Season 2 is expected to showcase an intense power struggle intertwined with emotional turmoil, family conflicts, and betrayal.

Kajol will again be seen as Noyonika Sengupta, joined by Jisshu Sengupta, Alyy Khan, Sheeba Chaddha, Kubbra Sait, and Gaurav Pandey. The cast will also include Sonali Kulkarni playing Narayani Dhole, a strong political rival to Noyonika’s husband. Karanvir Sharma also joins in as Param Manjal, a lawyer and Noyonika’s partner in the firm.
