As per a report by The Economic Times, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 is slated to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The movie will reportedly be available in multiple Indian languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi, ensuring a true pan-India OTT rollout.
While the production team is yet to make an official announcement, OTTPlay reports that Kantara Chapter 1 could premiere on Prime Video from October 30, 2025, roughly four weeks after its theatrical debut. The initial streaming release is expected to include the Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions, with the Hindi-dubbed version following about 8 weeks later.
Helmed, co-written, and frontlined by Rishab Shetty himself, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 takes audiences back in time, nearly a thousand years before the events of the 2022 original. Set in the mystical forest of Kantara, the film explores the origins of the divine legend, chronicling an epic confrontation between the Kantara tribe, led by Shetty, and the Bangara kingdom ruled by Kulasekhara, portrayed by Gulshan Devaiah.
Alongside Shetty, the film stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram Subramaniam in pivotal roles. It is backed by Hombale Films, the studio behind KGF and Kantara.
