Excitement is building among viewers as Brad Pitt’s F1: The Movie gears up for its digital debut, arriving on Amazon Prime Video for rental starting August 22. Apple TV+ is expected to roll out the streaming of the film sometime between late September and early October, though an exact premiere date hasn’t been locked in yet.
The film follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a legendary Formula 1 driver forced into early retirement after a career-ending crash. Years later, his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), now the struggling owner of the fictional APXGP team, convinces Sonny to return to the paddock, not as a racer, but as a mentor to rookie sensation Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). Together, Sonny and Ruben attempt to rebuild their team’s tarnished legacy while navigating the ruthless world of Formula 1.

Brad Pitt playing Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver who makes his comeback at the fictional APXGP team, is joined by Joshua Pearce, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Kim Bodnia and The Crown actor Tobias Menzies in the lead character. Additionally, the cast ensemble also includes Sarah Niles, Abdul Salis, Callie Cooke, Shea Whigham, and Will Merrick.
