Blue Box, originally titled Ao no Hako, is all set to return with a new season, bringing good news for anime fans who enjoyed its calm and realistic storytelling. The anime stood out for showing everyday school life through sports and emotions, rather than loud drama. After the first season ended earlier this year, viewers were waiting for a clear update on its future. That update finally arrived at the Jump Festa 2026 event. The makers officially revealed the first key visual for Blue Box Season 2 and confirmed its release window. Here’s everything you need to know about the anime.

The anime continues to showcase the life of Taiki Inomata, a dedicated badminton player, and how he balances his sports goals with his growing feelings for Chinatsu Kano, who is a talented basketball player. At the same time, Hina Chono’s presence adds emotional depth and complexity to their relationships.

Season 2 is expected to focus more on character growth, competition, and the choices the characters must make as they move forward in both sports and personal life.

Blue Box Season 2: Cast and crew

Blue Box Season 2 is being made by Telecom Animation Film, the same studio that worked on Season 1. This means the animation and story style will stay the same.  While the full voice cast of Blue Box Season 2 has not been officially announced yet, the Jump Festa 2026 announcement ensured that the main cast will return. This likely includes the voices of Taiki, Chinatsu, and Hina, who were important to the anime’s success.
