The world of Westeros is opening its doors once again, this time by stepping back to an age of wandering knights, young princes, and uncertain futures. Remember the name Ser Duncan the Tall, a knight whose quiet strength once filled the pages of George R. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms brings a familiar yet fresh story to the screen, rooted in honour, friendship, and survival. Serving as a prequel to Game of Thrones, the series draws from the novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg. With its focus on character-driven storytelling, the show promises a slower, deeper look at Westeros before wars changed it.
The series is set to debut on HBO on January 18, 2026, for audiences in the United States. However, viewers in India will be able to watch it starting January 19, 2026, on JioHotstar. Additionally, to keep viewers engaged, the makers have decided to follow a weekly release schedule.

The story takes place almost 100 years before Game of Thrones. The story follows Ser Duncan the Tall, known as Dunk, and a young boy called Egg, who is later revealed to be Prince Aegon Targaryen. They travel together across Westeros, visiting tournaments and small villages, and usually depend on their own choices rather than destiny.

At this time, the Targaryens still sit on the Iron Throne, and people still remember dragons. As Dunk and Egg meet rival knights, secret loyalties, and difficult choices, they grow closer to each other. The story focuses on honour, social class, and quiet bravery, shown through small, personal moments instead of huge battles.
It is a simple, down-to-earth journey where both characters grow slowly. Trust is tested again and again, and the road teaches them important lessons about responsibility and the consequences of their choices.
