Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi Buds 6 in China, alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The earbuds pair is positioned as its new half in-ear wireless earbuds for users who prefer a lighter, more open fit, but still want premium audio features like Snapdragon Sound and tuning by Harman. The Buds 6 focus on sound quality, comfort, and smart features, bringing lossless playback, adaptive noise control, and long battery life to the mid-range TWS segment.
The Xiaomi Buds 6 are priced at 699 yuan (around Rs 8,930). They are available in Pearl White, Titanium Gold, Moon Shadow Black, and Nebula Purple, and are already on sale in China. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed global availability. For context, the Xiaomi Buds 5 launched globally in September 2024.

The Xiaomi Buds 6 weigh just 4.4g per earbud and use a new Bionic half in-ear design aimed at improving comfort and fit. Inside, Xiaomi uses a triple-magnet driver system with a 24K gold-plated diaphragm. According to the company, this improves high-frequency sensitivity by up to 30 percent, which should translate into clearer treble and tighter bass. The tuning is handled by Harman’s Golden Ear team, with dedicated Harman Audio EFX and Master Mode profiles for users who want more control over sound.
These come with Snapdragon Sound, which enables aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive. You also get Hi-Res Audio certification, allowing playback up to 24-bit/48 kHz at data rates up to 2.1 Mbps. In simple terms, this can get you closer to a wired-like quality if your phone supports these codecs.
For everyday use, the buds offer adaptive ANC, spatial audio, Dynamic self-adaptive EQ, and a three-mic system AI noise reduction. Xiaomi claims it can cut wind noise up to 12 m/s and ambient noise up to 95 dB during calls, which should help if you take calls outdoors.
There are also some productivity-focused features: independent recording from the earphones, real-time transcription, one-click summaries, multi-scene recording, and translation tools. These will likely depend on Xiaomi’s software ecosystem, so availability may vary by region.
Other features include Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device smart connection, Apple Find My support, IP54 dust and water resistance for the earbuds, and pressure controls on the buds and case.
The battery life is rated at up to 6.5 hours from the buds (ANC off) and up to 35 hours with the charging case (ANC off). With ANC on, the buds drop to about 3.5 hours, and the total goes to 20 hours. That is competitive for the segment but not class-leading.
The move to Snapdragon Sound and aptX Lossless is notable at this price, especially for Android users who want better wireless fidelity without moving to expensive flagships. The Harman Golden Ear tuning, new multi-magnet driver design, various productivity tools and Apple Find My support are useful features to have.
However, being half in-ear, passive isolation is limited, so ANC performance may not match fully sealed in-ear buds.
Still, if Xiaomi brings them to more markets, they could fit well in the mid-range true wireless earbuds market.
