WhatsApp has been developing a number of new features with the goal of improving the user experience. In the most recent update, the Meta-owned instant messaging app is purportedly working on a new feature for iOS users that would allow them to open the view once media directly from the linked devices. The feature was previously only available to Android beta users, but it has now been extended to iOS users with the current version 25.2.10.76.
For most users, the view once feature has been a popular privacy tool as it lets users share images, videos, and voice messages that vanish as they are opened. However, the platform limited the usefulness by preventing these files from opening on the secondary or linked devices.

With the new beta update, testers may now open view-once photos, videos, and voice chats immediately on linked devices, including PCs, removing the need to constantly check their phones to open them.
Until now, WhatsApp only allows users to open a view once files are on the primary device, which users find unpleasant, especially those who constantly transfer between devices.

While the ability to send view once media from linked devices was introduced earlier, the feature’s accessibility for opening media remained confined to the primary device. However, it is worth noting that the feature is currently limited to a select group of beta testers on iOS, with more users expected to gain access in the coming days. The users will be able to access the feature via TestFlight.
