WhatsApp has been working on a variety of features for the iOS users. Among those in the pipeline, WhatsApp has started rolling out a new TestFlight beta for iOS that brings native multi-account support, a long requested feature that lets users switch between two accounts on the same device.
The update was first spotted by WABetaInfo, which reports that some beta testers have gained access to an “Account List” section inside the app’s settings. The option might also show up as a shortcut next to the QR code button, depending on the rollout. Users can now add a second account directly within WhatsApp thanks to this new menu, doing away with the need for workarounds like using WhatsApp Business or depending on a companion device.
For the time being, the beta allows users to have only two accounts, but the setup is flexible, the WaBeta report added. Testers can register a new phone number, link an existing WhatsApp account that was previously used on another phone or on WhatsApp Business, or scan a QR code to connect a companion account. Once set up, the secondary account automatically syncs chats and settings with the primary device.

Importantly, each account retains its own configuration, including chat backups, notification preferences, and other personalised settings, ensuring that activity on one profile does not interfere with the other. WhatsApp will also label incoming notifications with the appropriate account to avoid confusion.

The feature is currently available in public beta testing and it must be noted that there is no confirmed rollout timeline for the feature yet. The report stated that the feature can make its way to the public in the coming weeks. Stay tuned with Digit for the latest information about the WhatsApp feature.
