Twitter’s Vine video-sharing app has rolled its biggest update till date. The update brings Vine Messages which give users the ability to send private messages directly to other users via video or text. Users can download Vine messages from Google’s Play store for Android or from the App Store for iOS.

Vine Messages is found under the Home icon. From there, users can select it and go to their Vine Message Inbox. The inbox shows messages from friends in a list by default and every friend in your inbox is color-coded according to the profile color they have chosen. Users can also receive video and text messages from people who are not your friends. The messaging service asks you to enter your mobile phone number to verify your account before sending a video or text message to contacts.

The feature notes the correspondence time and number of messages appear of each avatar. Users will hear a sound like a little raindrop each time you send or receive a message. Users can also get notifications whenever a new message arrives on their home screen.

You can also access the inbox by swiping the home screen to the left. Users can record 6 seconds per message in video or text and also have an option to add a caption to the message. You can access “Quick Reply” by just tapping on the video record icon.

Vine which completed one year in January celebrated its birthday with a video named ‘Year on Vine.’ The video had a compilation of last year’s most memorable videos posted on the service. The 18 minute video featured over 200 videos from clips from musicians (Justin Bieber), actors and President Barack Obama.
