Snapchat 2.0 released with Android Video Messaging feature

Snapchat 2.0 is now available on Google Play store (after ten days in private beta phase), with a new Android Video Messaging feature.

Through the new app, Snapchat users can add videos to messages and share them more easily. It is available on Google Play store here.

In a blog post, Snapchat stated that it faced a number of challenges in making Snapchat video for Android as the Phones were not developed with Snapchat in mind. It said that developing a new hardware for Android Phones was very tough but still exciting. The company stated that some users may face some difficulties while using Snapchat video and can email them to make Snapchat better.

Snapchat’s new video feature allows you to send clips up to 10-seconds in length along with your message. It also has a unique feature that allows you to configure the video to disappear after 1-10 seconds of being watched. The Snapchat Video port was launched for iOS two months back and is now available on Android.

Snapchat 2.0 also has other improvements, such as a new notification system that can be customized to deliver a variety of different alerts to the users; better camera frame-rates and navigation speed, and better overall reliability.
