Microsoft readying Movies & TV app for iOS and Android: Report

HIGHLIGHTS

Microsoft’s Movies & TV app is currently only available on Windows 10 PCs, Xbox, and Windows 10 Mobile. This might change soon.

Those who have created a large library of movies and tv shows from the Microsoft Store are in for some good news if a new report is to be believed. According to Windows Central, Microsoft’s Movies & TV app, currently found only on Windows 10 PCs, Xbox, and Windows 10 Mobile platforms, will soon be available to Android and iOS users.

After Microsoft effectively sounded the death knell for Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile last year, the company has been working hard to introduce its apps and services on Android and iOS. This was evident in the fact that the company introduced and revamped several apps for the platforms, including – Microsoft Edge for Android and iOS, Microsoft News app for Android and iOS, and Microsoft Launcher for Android.

The Redmond-based software company is also working to introduce new features on Outlook for iOS and Android. The Outlook app will soon get an in-app Do Not Disturb feature that will allow users to turn off notifications for new emails. Microsoft has also been updating its Office 365 apps on Android and iOS consistently.

The company seems to have a big focus on creating meaningful apps for the world’s most popular operating systems after its own suffered a sad demise, and one can only expect to see more apps from Microsoft for Android and iOS in the future.
