Aadhaar has become one of the most crucial identity documents for every Indian, required for everything from opening a bank account to getting a mobile SIM. As its importance continues to grow, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now rolled out a new, safer way to access Aadhaar directly on WhatsApp.
The facility has been integrated into the government’s official MyGov Helpdesk chatbot on WhatsApp, which now allows users to download a password-protected digital copy of their Aadhaar securely. The feature is powered through DigiLocker integration, ensuring that the digital Aadhaar remains encrypted and accessible only to the rightful owner.
