Also, note that if you don’t have access to your registered mobile number, you cannot change it using the new Aadhaar app. You will need to go to an Aadhaar center to update your number.

How to update your mobile number using the new Aadhaar app

You can easily update your current Aadhaar linked mobile number using the simple steps outlined below:

1. Download and install the new Aadhaar app on your Android or iOS smartphone.

2. Open the app and register using your Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, and Face ID.

3. After logging in, navigate to the Services option > choose Mobile Number Update.

4. Hit the Continue to Update Mobile Number button > enter your new mobile number > tap Send OTP.

5. Enter the OTP sent to your new mobile number and click Verify OTP.

6. Next, tap on Face Authenticate > place your face inside the red box > when the circle changes its colour to green, blink to capture the image.

7. After successful authentication, press the Confirm and Pay button.

8. Follow the on screen instructions and make the payment of Rs 75.

Once done, your mobile number will be updated within 30 days.

Note: Face authentication will not be possible if biometric locking is enabled on the app.
