Best phones to buy with brightest displays in 2026: OnePlus 15, Vivo X300 and more

HIGHLIGHTS

Vivo X300 topped our testing charts with a measured brightness of 3,340 nits.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL matched its claimed peak brightness of 3,300 nits.

Vivo T5 Pro carries the highest brand claim at 5,000 nits but reached 3,320 nits in our tests.

One thing that has undoubtedly seen a massive upgrade is the display in smartphones. And why not? The industry has spent years implementing higher refresh rates, slimmer bezels and more accurate colours. But in 2026, another display metric is grabbing attention: brightness. Whether you are reading messages under harsh sunlight, watching HDR content or gaming outdoors, peak brightness has become a solid factor among flagship and premium smartphones.

However, there is often a gap between what brands advertise and what user experience in the real world. Manufacturers usually quote local peak brightness brightness figures measured under specific HDR conditions, while actual usability depends more on sustained brightness and outdoor visibility. To better understand how the displays perform beyond marketing claims, we compared and listed results from our own tests. Here are some of the brightest smartphone screens available in 2026.

OnePlus 15

The OnePlus 15 comes with a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED panel with 165Hz refresh rate. The company claims the display can reach 3,500 nits in HDR scenarios and 1,800 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM). In our testing, the display reached 3,120 nits, making it one of the brightest screens you can buy this year. The panel also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid content.

Apart from the display, the phone comes with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, backed by a massive 7,300mAh dual-cell battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. The device also comes with 50MP triple-camera setup and IP66, IP68, and IP69K protection.

Vivo X300

The Vivo X300 comes with a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display. The company claims that the device offers local peak brightness of 4,500 nits and 2,000 nits HBM. In our testing, the display recorded 3,340 nits. While this is lower than the claimed number, it still delivers excellent visibility under direct sunlight and impressive HDR performance. The display also includes ZEISS colour calibration, BOE Q10+ luminescent materials and a combination of 2,160Hz PWM dimming with global DC dimming to reduce flicker.

The device comes with MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset along with V3+ imaging chip. Other things include a 6,040mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, a 200MP ZEISS camera system and software support extending to five Android upgrades and seven years of security updates.

Oppo Find X9 Pro offers a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED ProXDR display with a micro quad-curved design. The company claims the panel can achieve 3,600 nits peak brightness and 1,800 nits in High Brightness Mode. Our testing recorded a maximum brightness of 3,100 nits. The display supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, adaptive 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rates and 2,160Hz PWM dimming for eye protection.

Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor paired with a 7,500mAh silicon-carbon battery. Charging support includes 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The camera setup is led by a 200MP Hasselblad periscope lens alongside 50MP primary and ultra-wide sensors.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL is also on the list. The device’s 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED display is rated at 3,300 nits peak brightness and 2,200 nits HBM. In our tests, the panel reached the full 3,300 nits figure. The display also offers a sharp 1344 x 2992 resolution, adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Ultra HDR content.

Along with this, the Google Tensor G5 chipset with 16GB RAM. It also features 5,200mAh battery, 45W wired charging, Qi2 wireless charging, a 50MP triple-camera setup and long software support.

In our testing recorded 3,320 nits rather than the claimed 5,000 nits, the display still ranks among the brightest panels available. The screen also supports 10-bit colour depth, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and SGS-certified eye-care technologies.

The Vivo T5 Pro comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and is backed by a 9,020 mAh battery. It comes with a 50MP Sony IMX882 camera, IP68/IP69 certification and MIL-STD-810H durability compliance.

Which one should be your choice?

If brightness is important, the Vivo X300 had the highest measured brightness at 3,340 nits, followed by the Vivo T5 Pro at 3,320 nits, and the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL matched its official 3,300-nit claim exactly. However, you should consider more than just brightness. Performance, camera, design, battery life, and price are all important factors to consider.
