It is rare for a game’s price to become as big a talking point months before its release. But when it comes to GTA 6, anything can happen. As we are now in the year of GTA 6 launch, rumours and leaks around how much GTA 6 will cost in India have flooded social media and fan forums many times. Some rumours suggest Rockstar could push pricing close to ₹9,000. Others claim the base edition will stick to the standard AAA bracket of ₹5,999 to ₹6,999. And then there are leaks hinting at premium editions crossing ₹12,000.
With a reported development budget touching $1 to $2 billion and expectations sky high, pricing has become part of the drama. Rockstar has not officially confirmed the pricing yet. But across different reports, insider comments, analyst predictions, and now deleted leaks, a pattern is beginning to form. Here is a clear breakdown of every major GTA 6 price rumour so far, and what we can expect when the game finally launches.

The latest wave of speculation began after a now deleted post by leaker @millieamand claimed that the Premium Edition of GTA 6 would cost £109.99 in the UK. Screenshots of the post circulated quickly, and once converted, that figure translates to roughly ₹12,799 in India. The same leak suggested a Deluxe Edition price of £89.99, which comes to around ₹10,472.
If accurate, this would make GTA 6 one of the most expensive mainstream console game releases in India.
However, there are two important caveats. First, Rockstar has not confirmed any edition pricing. Second, this leak only mentions higher tier editions, not the base version.
The same report also claimed GTA 6 could launch at around 150GB in size, potentially growing to 200GB or even 300GB with updates and DLC. The scale of the game, combined with its ambitious features like dual protagonists Lucia and Jason, has led many to believe Rockstar may justify a higher price tag.
Still, until pre-orders go live, this Premium Edition figure remains a leak and nothing more.
Before the Premium Edition leak, the biggest debate revolved around a possible $100 global launch price. Analysts such as Matthew Ball earlier suggested that GTA 6 could be priced between $80 and $100, citing its massive development budget. If Rockstar goes with a $100 tag internationally, simple conversion pushes the Indian price close to ₹8,800 to ₹9,000.
This rumour gained traction as more AAA publishers began experimenting with $80 pricing. Comments from Take Two executives added fuel to the fire. When asked about GTA 6 pricing, company leadership avoided a direct answer and instead mentioned that they have used variable pricing for years. That statement did not confirm anything, but it also did not shut down the $100 theory.
However, not everyone agrees with the ₹9,000 narrative. A former Rockstar North technical director suggested that Rockstar’s strategy is usually to maximise reach first and monetise long term through its online ecosystem. And that model, we all know, worked extremely well with GTA 5.
Several reports now suggest the base edition could land between ₹5,999 and ₹6,999 in India, aligning with current AAA pricing. Special and collector editions may go higher, possibly crossing ₹7,299 or more.
At this point, three pricing tiers seem most likely based on all rumours combined. A standard edition around ₹5,999 to ₹6,999. A mid tier deluxe edition around ₹7,000 to ₹10,000. And a premium or collector version that could climb above ₹12,000.
However, it is to be noted that until Rockstar officially reveals pricing of the game, every number remains mere speculation. So, it is wise to take all of this information with a pinch of salt.
