“Looks like I’ve got a plane to catch,” says James Bond in the recently-unveiled video of upcoming game, 007: First Light. Bond isn’t at an airport or on his way to one when he says this. Instead, he is talking about hopping on top of a moving plane in order to get to his target. And if you are a true Bond fan, something like this is sort of expected out of him.

During Sony’s recent State of Play, we got an in-depth look at what the next Bond game could look like. It has been over a decade since we got a game featuring our favorite spy and the expectations from the gameplay reveal were quite high. And it won’t be wrong to say that it was all worth the wait. The 30-minute long video shows Bond chasing agent 009 and breaking almost every rule to get to him. If you are a fan of the Hitman franchise, you will feel right at home as the game looks quite similar to the world of Agent 47.
Now without wasting any more time, let’s take a look at 5 biggest highlights that every Bond fan will want to see.
No Bond adventure is complete without rubber burning and bullets flying. The gameplay video shows Bond driving a car like a good samaritan initially, as he is heading to the target’s location with his team. And minutes later, we see the same car with a hanging bumper, racing through the streets in order to chase a target.
The scene looks straight out of a Bond film, complete with high-speed manoeuvres, hairpin turns, and explosive set pieces. Infact, the car itself looks custom-tuned for chaos, promising gameplay that fuses precision driving with blockbuster spectacle.
At one point, the video flashes a stylish “Licence to Kill” pop-up, allowing us to connect to the character even more. The action sequences that follow show elegant, smooth weapon transitions, guns blazing, and takedowns that feel like a masterclass in espionage. It’s Bond lethality with all the finesse that fans expect and love.
No Bond movie, book, or game is complete without a mysterious female character. And this time, we are getting one in Miss Roth. She is first seen handing over car keys to Bond as he attempts to, and eventually succeeds in, hotwiring a car to begin a thrilling chase. It is then revealed that she is from a French intelligence agency and is after the same target. This is classic Bond storytelling that includes dangerous partnerships with just the right hint of charm.
Bond might be deadly serious in the field, but his one-liners are legendary and unforgettable. And the upcoming game doesn’t seem to forget that. Every now and then, there are cheeky dialogues that Bond utters with finesse. Be it saying “Looks like I’ve got a plane to catch,” before literally hopping on to a plane, or saying “Day-crashing a black tie event, haven’t done that since final year” while infiltrating a building, there are way too many moments that will make fans go “Oh yeah, this is Bond.”
A laser beam that can cause instant chaos, the signature watch that can do multiple things, smoke that confuses enemies, concealed traps, and so much more. Those cool gadgets that give Bond an edge over his enemies are here and how. Moreover, players can also use the environment to turn the odds in their favor, ensuring that creativity in the game is rewarded.
All of this is just the tip of the iceberg and we’ll find out more as the game’s release date inches closer. 007: First Light will be available on March 27, 2026 and could be the kind of Bond experience fans have been craving for years. From heart-stopping car chases and suave takedowns to cheeky humour and clever gadgetry, the game seems to pack in everything that defines James Bond at his best.
