A virtual printer that prints PDF on a PC

PDF is a compact format and it’s something most people can’t do without. Adobe isn’t the only one creating applications for PDF. Gnostice has created software called Print2eDoc which prints a document as a PDF file.

Unlike most other free software, Print2eDoc has many features put in place to make the PDF as customisable as possible. The software has been developed particularly for users using Microsoft Office and other similar applications. Installation is simple and the software puts a virtual printer on your PC. All documents can be printed through it to the PDF format as well as other such as TIF, PNG, SVG and many others.

Settings specific to each of the formats are available and these can be saved as profiles to be used later. The core focus however is on PDF file generation. There are options for all kinds of compression and security is handled using encryption for PDF.

There are also other connectivity and notification features. Once a PDF file is created, it can be immediately uploaded to an FTP server or sent by mail. Support for newsgroup uploading is also available.

The documentation is really helpful with information on every single option and menu. There’s even help provided on how to set it up on other Windows operating systems.
