BenQ E900WA Review

Value For Money

The E900WA is a 19-inch widescreen LCD from BenQ. A while back, we tested the BenQ X2200W—a 22-inch LCD monitor, which resembles this monitor in the looks department, at least.

At first glimpse, the designs are pretty identical. The stand is standard plastic without any special treatment or design but it is really flexible in allowing you to tilt the screen backwards and forwards. The screen cannot be rotated in any other direction, though.

The screen performs fairly well even though this is a TN panel. Viewing angles are alright but there is some visible backlight bleeding along the edges of the screen. There is also some wavering interference on the sides of the screen in certain patterns and the expected banding in TN panels is there towards the darker shades of color is there, but is not too noticeable.

There are speakers built into the screen and a 3.5mm cable is used to connect to it. There is also provision to connect an additional headphone. The volume control is easily accessible by the press of a single button. The speakers aren’t great, but they get the job done for some basic casual gaming and music.

There is an Auto Adjustment feature which automatically sets up the monitor for you without having to change the settings manually. Using the menus is simple and the controls are placed on the right of the monitor. The interface itself is very colourful and user friendly, so pretty much anyone can use it. There are plenty of display modes geared towards different kind of viewing and each of these can be switched to without having to go through deep into the menu.
