LG Smart TV Gaming Portal updated with new games, voice controls, and mobile gamepad support

Updated on 30-Dec-2025
HIGHLIGHTS

With this update, LG Gaming Portal has over 4,000 cloud games and 600 casual titles.

The update also brings motion, voice, and smartphone controls added for easier play.

Indie games from the LG webOS Hackathon also come to the platform.

Last month, LG Gaming Portal was launched in India with Xbox support, and now LG is expanding the library of this portal. The update brings new games, more control options, and deeper cloud-gaming integration across select LG TVs. LG Gaming Portal aims to make gaming easier for households that do not own a console or gaming PC, and turn the TV into an all-in-one entertainment hub. The updated library could tempt more users into the platform and shows how invested leading TV brands like LG are in treating gaming as a core feature.

LG Gaming Portal update: What’s new

LG says the Gaming Portal now offers more than 4,000 cloud-based titles and over 600 casual games that run directly on compatible Smart TVs. Users do not need external devices, extra cables, or downloads. The new update is rolling out to webOS 22 and later, and here is what is new in it:

Major studio titles

  • Just Dance Now: Ubisoft’s rhythm game is now available on LG Smart TVs running webOS 22 or newer. The Magic Remote works as a motion controller, so there is no console involved. It is live in the US, Australia, Sweden, and Norway, and is expected to reach more European markets soon.
  • Asphalt Legends Unite: Through Blacknut, LG is adding the popular arcade racer. In the US, it is available for free with ads. Players can control cars using the standard remote’s directional keys and get instant access to all cars and maps.
  • My Little Puppy: Published by Krafton via Blacknut, this one focuses on storytelling. It is designed as a narrative-led pet adventure built for large-screen viewing.

New indie titles

LG is also bringing winning projects from its webOS Hackathon to the Gaming Portal.

  • Quest of Sunflower: It is developed by Couchplay and is a family adventure game that uses AI-driven storytelling.
  • Signs of Magic: It is created by Lukas Klingsbo, and this title uses the Magic Remote’s gyroscope. Players draw gestures in the air to cast spells.

Voice AI and new control options

The company is also widening how users interact with games.

  • LG has teamed up with Volley, known for voice-driven games. US users can now play titles like Jeopardy! and Song Quiz using voice controls.
  • LG has launched an app for Android and iOS called the LG Mobile Gamepad Wi-Fi app, which turns a smartphone into a wireless controller. It targets games where touch-style input feels more natural than a TV remote.

Why this matters

For LG smart TV users, this update means the TV can double as a casual gaming console. No extra spending on game systems. No setup complexity. It also positions LG against rivals like Samsung and TCL that are pushing cloud gaming as part of their TV ecosystems.

These companies can also get recurring engagement and service revenue by adding games directly into the TV experience, as people will stay on their platforms playing these titles. With more titles, more control methods, and new developer partnerships, the Gaming Portal looks less like a gimmick and more like part of LG’s long-term strategy.
