Bharti Airtel has launched ‘Airtel Cartoon Network Classics’, a new subscription channel for Airtel Digital TV users that brings back popular legacy cartoons from the 1990s and 2000s. The aim is simple. Give older viewers a way to revisit shows they grew up with, and introduce younger audiences to the originals that shaped modern animation.
Airtel Cartoon Network Classics is available on channel number 445 exclusively via Airtel Digital TV. Programming includes some of the most recognisable Cartoon Network titles, like Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Dexter’s Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, etc.
Content streams without ads. Airtel says it wants the experience to feel closer to classic TV viewing, only with cleaner broadcasting and easier access.
For context, Airtel’s competitor, Tata Play also has a Cartoon Network Forever subscription channel costing Rs 60 a month.

Pushpinder Singh Gujral, DTH Business Head, Airtel, said the service is meant to offer ‘customers a chance to reconnect with iconic stories and characters that are loved even today.’
Meanwhile, Arjun Nohwar, Managing Director, South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said the partnership ensures these stories are ‘accessible and relevant for today’s audiences.’
For Airtel, these shows are cheaper to distribute than fresh originals, but come with strong recall value. Ad-free broadcasting also gives parents more control over screen time and avoids interruptions.
For Warner Bros. Discovery, this keeps Cartoon Network’s legacy library active in India at a time when streaming platforms dominate kids’ content. It strengthens brand relevance without needing new production spending.
If you want safe, familiar, family-friendly TV, this is an easy pick at Rs 59 per month. The absence of ads helps. The line-up focuses on classics, so do not expect new CN-era shows or modern remakes.
For households already using OTT kids’ apps, this is more of a nostalgia add-on than a replacement.
But if you grew up watching these titles, this channel can be an affordable way to relive that catalogue with your kids.
