Want BSNL 5G on your phone? Here’s how to upgrade your 3G SIM for free

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has been actively launching new offers to attract subscribers. After launching its 5G service – Quantum 5G in India, the telco is now offering a free upgrade to 5G internet connectivity for its existing users. BSNL, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), shared that the existing 2G or 3G users can visit the nearest BSNL CSC or authorised retailer today to upgrade their SIM card to faster internet services at zero cost.

Additionally, the telecom company is also offering doorstep delivery of 5G SIM Cards. If you’re wondering how to upgrade to BSNL 4G or 5G services, here’s a step-by-step guide.

How to upgrade to a BSNL 4G/5G SIM card?

1. First, head to the BSNL website or their customer service hotline and search for the BSNL CSC or authorised retailer closest to your location
2. Now, schedule your visit and go there with all the necessary documents like Aadhaar and more.
3. Request an upgrade at the store and follow the instructions given by the customer service representative.
4. Get your KYC done, and your 3G SIM will get upgraded to a BSNL 4G/5G SIM card.

How to get a BSNL 5G SIM card at your doorstep?

1. Visit the new BSNL portal for 5G and then head to customer registration.
2. Fill in all the necessary details to complete the e-KYC.
3. Next, choose between prepaid and postpaid connections.
4. Enter any additional details as required, and then verify your mobile number using the OTP received.
5. Once done, you will get the BSNL 5G SIM card to your doorstep.
