Elon Musk’s Starlink is expected to soon be available in the Indian market. As per the latest reports, the company has already got the official clearance from the Indian authorities and may introduce its services in the coming two months. The company aims to offer enhanced network and connectivity all over the country, specifically in the remote and rural areas wherein the traditional internet infrastructure remains unsuccessful.

Starlink will be offering high speed connectivity through the constellation of low Earth orbit satellites. The company has already announced collaboration with India’s leading telecom operators including Jio and Airtel. Starlink is expected to start its operations in India in the next two months, stated ANI report. However, the exact launch date, pre-order registrations remain under the wraps at the moment.

According to reports, Starlink’s initial setup costs in India could range from Rs 33,000 to Rs 35,000, and the monthly plans without data usage limits are reportedly priced at Rs 3,000. If true, this will still be placed in the premium category compared to the existing internet providers and can create challenges for the company’s operation. Few reports also suggest that it may offer the services at more competitive rates.

The rumours also suggest that the company may offer a one-month free trial with each device purchase.

If the reports are believed to be true, the company may offer a low latency internet with speed in between 25 Mbps to 200 Mbps, with an average speed of around 100Mbps. However, the exact speed may vary depending on the location. For the unversed, Starlink is currently available in over 100 countries at the moment.
