Airtel has announced a strategic collaboration with Elon Musk led SpaceX to introduce Starlink’s high-speed satellite internet services to the customers. However, it is worth noting that this collaboration is contingent on SpaceX securing the necessary approvals to sell Starlink in India.
As part of the agreement, both companies will assess opportunities to provide Starlink equipment through Airtel’s retail stores and extend Starlink services to businesses, communities, schools, and healthcare centers, particularly in remote and underserved areas. In simpler terms, the partnership will explore how Starlink satellite tech can complement Airtel’s existing services while using the Airtel extensive network infrastructure.

By adding Starlink to its portfolio — alongside its existing partnership with Eutelsat OneWeb, it seems to be aiming to offer better connectivity solutions to the users in the country. It means that the users can expect to significantly improve internet access in regions with minimal or no coverage, enhancing the offerings for enterprises, businesses and communities, giving it an edge over the competitors like Jio and Vi.
