Bharti Airtel has announced a partnership with Perplexity AI, offering its 360 million consumers a free 12-month membership to Perplexity Pro across mobile, internet (Wi-Fi), and DTH services. This service, which is generally valued at Rs 17,000 per year, gives users free access to advanced AI technologies such as Pro searches, file analysis, model switching, and much more. In layman’s terms, the subscription provides customers with real-time, conversational replies that have been thoroughly researched using data points. Here are all the advantages of Perplexity AI and how Airtel customers can get it for free.
Perplexity Pro users get access to advanced features like more daily Pro searches, access to advanced models like Sonar (in-house model), GPT-4.1, Claude 4.0 Sonnet, or Gemini 2.5 Pro. The subscription also allows users to select specific models, utilise deep research capabilities, generate images, upload files (including PDFs, CSVs, audio, video, and images), and explore their content. Pro subscribers also gain access to Perplexity Labs, which can create everything from reports and spreadsheets to dashboards and simple web applications. Additionally, users can switch between models and search modes directly from the search bar in an existing thread.

Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, stated that the partnership empowers Airtel users with a “powerful, real-time knowledge tool at no additional cost,” enabling them to stay ahead.
Aravind Srinivas, Cofounder and CEO of Perplexity, said that this collaboration will make professional-grade AI accessible to students, professionals, and homemakers across India.

Eligible Airtel customers can claim the complimentary Perplexity Pro subscription by logging in to the Airtel Thanks app. They can activate their Perplexity Pro account from the rewards section.
