UPDATE: Airtel has released its official statement, acknowledging the issue. They said, “Our customers from Delhi-NCR are experiencing some voice calling issues for the past hour or so. Significant part of the issue has already been resolved and our engineers are at work to resolve this fully. We deeply regret any inconvenience.”
Airtel is experiencing a massive outage for thousands of users across the country. Several users reported an issue on social media platforms, stating they cannot make calls or access data services with their Airtel number. According to Downdetector, over 3,500 users have reported issues since the afternoon, leaving many customers unable to access data or make calls.
According to the outage tracking platform, a sudden surge in complaints started around 4 PM, with over 3,500 reports logged at its peak, highlighting the scale of the disruption. The outage reports were split across services, with 71% of users facing trouble with mobile phone issues, 14% reported problems with mobile internet, and 15% users complained of a complete signal loss.
Airtel too had responded to the outage, saying, “We are currently experiencing a network outage. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore services promptly. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Thanks, Team Airtel.” However, the company later deleted the post on X (formerly Twitter). They have yet to share an expected timeframe for resolving the issue.
