Xiaomi is preparing to bring its next premium smartphones to India, and early signs suggest the launch may not be too far away. Leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 17 series, which was recently launched in China, has already started appearing on certification platforms, including India’s BIS database. The Xiaomi 17 series includes four models, notably the standard Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the experimental Pro models that include the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
While all four models are available in China, reports suggest that only select variants may arrive in India. The Xiaomi 17 series is expected to feature a Leica-based camera setup, as the brand’s prime focus remains on photography. Here are all the details we know so far about the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
The Xiaomi 17 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is anticipated to have 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood the smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Rumours also suggest that the device may pack a large 7,000mAh battery which may be supported by a 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
In terms of optics, the device is expected to include a Leica-backed triple camera setup with three 50MP sensors. For the selfie lovers, the device is expected to have a 32 MP camera at the front.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is anticipated to boast a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Furthermore, the company is expected to install a Dragon Crystal Glass 3 protection to keep the display protected. It’s expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. In terms of battery, the device may house a 6,800mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
For the photography lovers, the device may come equipped with a Leica-based triple camera system which might include a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 200MP telephoto lens. Other than that, the device may also get a 50MP front camera.
The tipster Anvin has recently shared that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra have already received approval from India’s BIS and Thailand’s NBTC. Furthermore, the brand has also confirmed that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 will make their way into the global market in the year 2026.

While the company has been tight-lipped about the pricing of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17, the early reports suggest that the Xiaomi 17 could start around Rs 65,000, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra may be priced close to or above Rs 1,10,000.
