As scheduled, the Vivo X9s and the X9s Plus are now official. These are the new flagship phones from the company and feature a similar look, design as the Vivo V5 Plus. As the name suggests, the Vivo X9s is the smaller of the two, featuring a 5.5-inch display with a full HD resolution. The Vivo X9s Plus rocks a bigger 5.85-inch display, with the tried and tested 1080p resolution. Both displays are AMOLED and a fingerprint scanner lies in the regular location below the display, not under it.
The technically smaller 5.5-inch Vivo X9s is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 platform, which is clubbed with 4GB of RAM and a non-expandable 64GB storage. The Vivo X9s Plus on the other hand runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 platform as we confirmed a few days back during our visit to MWC Shanghai. It also features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is non-expandable. The Vivo X9s and X9s Plus have a 3320mAh and 4015mAh battery respectively.
The two phones are far more interesting in the camera department, as at the front, both feature a dual camera setup comprising of a 20MP + 5MP camera. Both have an aperture of f/2.0 and besides the improved camera app you also get front facing flash. At the back, the phones have a 16MP rear camera, which we had a chance to experience first hand. As per initial impressions, the camera seemed considerably better than the OnePlus 3.
The Vivo X9s is priced at CNY 2,698 (Rs 25,700 approx) and the X9s Plus will cost CNY 2,998 (Rs 28,550 approx). However, we have no confirmation or info on whether these phone will be launched in India at all.
