It’s that time of the year when brands officially introduce their next generation foldable and this year is no different. Both Vivo and Samsung are touted to introduce their X Fold 5 and Z Fold 7 in the Indian market. This year, both the devices are said to be extremely sleek, and carry a host of AI features along with upgraded hardware.
Both brands have officially started teasing the upcoming book-style foldable and also confirmed the launch date. Here’s everything that you can expect from both of the devices.
The Vivo X Fold 5 is confirmed to debut in India along with the Vivo X200 FE on July 14. On the other hand, Samsung is organising Galaxy Unpacked on July 9 where it will be introducing the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE.
The Vivo X Fold 5 is said to debut as ultra-thin foldable with 0.92 cm folded and 0.43 when unfolded and weighs 217 grams. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to get 8.9 mm thickness when it is folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. The device may weigh 239 grams.
Vivo X Fold 5 is said to get an 8.03-inch LTPO AMOLED panel and a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a 120hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to have a 6.5-inch AMOLED cover screen and an 8.2-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the X Fold 5 could get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
On the battery front, the Vivo X Fold 5 is rumoured to get a 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 30W wireless charging. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to be backed by a 4,400 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
Both devices may offer a triple camera setup. The Vivo X Fold 5 may come with triple 50MP cameras with a 32MP front camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 may come with an upgraded 200MP primary camera, 10MP telephoto sensor, and 12MP ultrawide sensor. Both of them will have a variety of AI features.
If the reports are believed to be true, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 may debut with a price tag of Rs 1,64,999. On the other hand, the Vivo X Fold 5 is said to be priced at Rs 1,59,999. However, it is not confirmed at the moment.
