The Nokia X10 – Symbian^3, 5MP camera, QWERTY keyboard, AMOLED screen; sexy

Updated on 28-Nov-2018

So, while Nokia did announce the release of its new OS – the MeeGo – which it developed in collaboration with Intel at the MWC, many people were surprised and disappointed that the giant Finnish mobile maker did not unveil anything else there.

Well, if rumours (and the below video) are to be believed, Nokia may just have let details slip on its new Symbian^3 powered device, believed to be called the Nokia X10. While the Symbian^3 was first shown to the world on the touch-enabled Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, it looks like its smaller successor, the X10 may be the first to hit the market, with what looks to be a snazzy AMOLED screen, and a QWERTY keyboard, ready to make phone buffs weak at their knees with the news.

While the Nokia N8 (the much awaited and glorious sounding 12MP camera-phone with 720p video output) was officially supposed to be the first Symbian^3 device to be released, it might be beaten to the market by the X10. Specifications running the rounds of the X10 rumour mill include: Cortex A8/9 CPU at 600MHz, 256MB RAM, 16GB/32GB internal memory, 3.2" AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 5MP camera with LED flash, 3G with HSDPA/HSUPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, accelerometer (for UI auto-rotation).
